Newton means "the New Farm" and it has had that name over 1000 years.
Newton is in the north east corner of Buckinghamshire, England, and borders on Bedfordshire to the east. The river Great Ouse flows through along the northern side of the parish as it goes via Bedford towards The Wash.
Blossomville is a slight corruption of the French name Blosseville. The Duc de Blosseville was given Newton by William 1st and Blosseville-sur-mer is a similar slightly bigger village in Normandy.
I have compiled a map showing the field names of Newton, which will appear here as soon as I master the process of putting a map on a web page.
